The Executive Blood Drive Grand Finale, held on 15 August 2026 at Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel, brought together senior government representatives, diplomatic missions, CEOs, Managing Directors, executive leaders, development partners, private-sector institutions, civil society and health-sector stakeholders around one shared humanitarian priority: strengthening voluntary blood donation for maternal and child health.
The presence and participation of distinguished leaders demonstrated that blood security is not solely a health-sector concern. It is a shared responsibility requiring leadership, institutional commitment and cross-sector collaboration.
The programme was officially launched by Mr. Oscar Kissanga, Secretary/Executive Director of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), who called upon institutions to translate leadership into measurable humanitarian action.
The Executive Blood Drive recorded 50 units of blood, contributing to a total of 110 units mobilised during the three-day Mother & Child Blood Drive 2026.
For AIDF Tanzania, the significance of this gathering extends beyond the event itself. It represents an emerging platform through which executive leadership can contribute to a stronger culture of voluntary blood donation across Tanzania.
When leaders lead by example, institutions move. When institutions move together, communities benefit.
