The Mother & Child Blood Drive 2026 was designed as more than a blood collection campaign.
Alongside voluntary blood donation, the three-day humanitarian programme provided free health screening and community health education, creating an opportunity for participants to understand their health status and strengthen awareness of preventive healthcare.
This approach reflects AIDF Tanzania’s commitment through the AIDF CARE Programme to advancing community health through a combination of awareness, prevention, early identification and humanitarian action
From Buliaga Grounds, Temeke, to the Executive Blood Drive Grand Finale at Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel, the programme brought together different sectors around one principle:
Healthy communities require collective action.
For AIDF Tanzania, the impact of the anniversary programme is therefore measured not only in blood units collected, but also in people reached, health knowledge shared, partnerships strengthened and new opportunities created for sustained community engagement.
