ONE YEAR OF AIDF TANZANIA: FROM PURPOSE TO HUMANITARIAN ACTION

One year of institutional growth. One year of partnerships. One year of community engagement. And one anniversary marked not only by celebration, but by action that saves lives.
To commemorate its First Anniversary, Africa Initiative Development Foundation (AIDF Tanzania) through the AIDF CARE Programme implemented the Mother & Child Blood Drive 2026, a three-day humanitarian campaign in Temeke, Dar es Salaam, dedicated to strengthening voluntary blood donation in support of maternal and child health.
The campaign brought together communities, volunteers, health professionals, institutions and partners around one shared responsibility: ensuring that safe blood is available when lives depend on it.
Across 13–14 August at Buliaga Grounds, Temeke the campaign mobilised 63 units of blood, complemented by free health screening and community health education.
The campaign culminated on 15 August 2026 at Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel**, through the inaugural Executive Blood Drive Programme, where an additional 50 units of blood where collected.
110 units. Three days. One humanitarian commitment.
For AIDF Tanzania, this anniversary was never simply about marking one year. It was about demonstrating what collective action can achieve when institutions, leaders and communities come together for a cause greater than themselves.
One year completed. A greater journey begins.
