AIDF Tanzania Engages with Government Leadership and Youth Development Stakeholders

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania | 2026

Youth development requires more than programmes—it requires strong institutions, meaningful dialogue and sustained collaboration between government, civil society and other development actors.

Africa Initiative Development Foundation (AIDF) Tanzania was honored to participate in the Special Forum of Youth Development Stakeholders, convened by the Office of the President – Ministry responsible for Youth Development, bringing together senior government leaders, Permanent Secretaries, Directors and key stakeholders to reflect on priorities shaping the future of young people in Tanzania.

The engagement provided an important platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collective reflection on how stronger systems, responsive policies and effective partnerships can accelerate opportunities and outcomes for young people across the country.

AIDF Tanzania particularly recognizes the leadership of the Permanent Secretaries and Directors across the participating institutions, whose professional contribution and commitment helped create a constructive space for substantive discussion and shared perspectives on the national youth development agenda.

We also acknowledge the leadership and coordination of Dr. Kedmon Mapana, Deputy Permanent Secretary – Office of the President, Ministry responsible for Youth Development, whose contribution strengthened the convening and helped advance meaningful stakeholder engagement.

FROM DIALOGUE TO COLLECTIVE ACTION

For AIDF Tanzania, meaningful participation in national development conversations is part of a broader commitment to ensuring that community voices, youth perspectives and civil society experience contribute to the processes that shape development priorities.

The forum reaffirmed an important principle: sustainable youth development is a shared responsibility.

Government leadership provides the institutional and policy framework. Civil society and development actors bring community experience, innovation and grassroots perspectives. Strategic partnerships connect these strengths to create solutions capable of reaching more young people and responding to real community needs.

BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS THAT MOVE DEVELOPMENT FORWARD

AIDF Tanzania values opportunities that bring institutions together around a common development agenda.

Our continued engagement with government institutions and development stakeholders reflects our commitment to building partnerships that move beyond dialogue—towards practical collaboration, evidence-informed action and measurable social impact.

As Tanzania continues to invest in its young population, AIDF Tanzania remains committed to contributing to platforms that strengthen youth participation, leadership, opportunity and inclusive development.

The future of youth development is shaped not only by the policies we create, but by the partnerships we build and the collective action we take to implement them.
