Numbers can tell us the scale of an event.
But they cannot fully tell us its meaning.

Thousands of caregivers, volunteers, partners and community members.
One day of shared experience.
On 7 February 2026, A Day with Orphans brought together children from across Dar es Salaam for a large-scale humanitarian and community experience delivered through the collaboration of AIDF Tanzania and FunCity.
The day combined recreation with purpose.
Children had opportunities for health screening, psychosocial engagement, talent expression, learning, recreation and community interaction, while a voluntary blood donation initiative connected the celebration to the needs of patients who depend on safe blood.
This is what meaningful humanitarian action can look like when celebration and service meet in the same place.
But the legacy of the day is not the crowd.
It is the conversation it opened.
What happens when children in care are not treated only as beneficiaries, but as full members of society?
What happens when disability does not define the boundaries of participation?
What happens when institutions, businesses, civil society, volunteers and communities decide that social inclusion is a shared responsibility?
A Day with Orphans offered one answer:
Possibility grows when people are given space to belong.
For AIDF Tanzania, this is the work beyond the event—the continued effort to connect communities, institutions and partners around solutions that restore dignity, expand opportunity and ensure that vulnerable children are not left at the margins of society.
Because a humanitarian event should not end when the music stops.
Its real measure is what it makes society think differently about—and what it inspires us to do next.
